Power Outage / Downed Power Lines
POWER OUTAGE
What to do if physically able
The following procedure will be helpful to you should you experience an outage:
- First, check all breakers in your home, these breakers may trip due to overloading or for unknown reasons.
- If you find all your breakers on, please check to see if your meter is receiving power, if it is, the numbers on the faceplate will be visible.
- Look to see if your neighbor has power, this will help the supervisor and/or linemen decide if they have an individual outage or a larger line outage.
- Next, call 423-337-5081 anytime day or night, and report your outage.
Please note that if it is outside of our normal business hours (Mon-Fri 8 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.) and the outage is affecting a large area of the system, calls may go to voicemail due to call volume, if you don’t get through on the first call, please leave a voicemail or wait momentarily and call back.
Please have the following information available:
- Your name
- Phone number (in case we need to get back in touch with you)
- Service address
- Estimated time since the power went out
- The cause of the outage, if known
We ask that you call and report an outage even if you think someone else may have already done so. This will give us a better idea of the outage area, therefore, allowing us to assess the problem faster.
